NII Shonan School

Objective

At the NII Shonan School, the internationally recognized scientists and researchers provide a series of advanced lectures on the state-of-the-art informatics research for PhD students and young researchers (and excellent master/bachelor students). Each lecture also includes a short hand-on session for the participants to try tools and software used in the current research field. In addition to these valuable lectures, the participants of the NII Shonan School have an excellent opportunity to build up, enhance and widen international collaboration network among young researchers through the five-day dense programme.

The NII Shonan School is held in the Shonan Village Center (near Tokyo), which offers all you need, such as conference facilities, meeting rooms, comfortable accommodation, restaurants and even pools like a resort hotel. The atmosphere of the Shonan Village Center is relaxed and open and would be one of the best places in Asia for summer/winter school for PhD students and young researchers (and excellent master/bachelor students).

The NII Shonan School is financially supported and managed by National Institute of Informatics (NII), Japan, which underpins and promotes the creation of a state-of-the-art academic-information infrastructure that is essential to research and education as an inter-university research institute.
